The International Society for Chilean Music will begin its activities with a Liederabend in Vienna, Austria. It will be a very special concert, two different Vienna-based duos will present a repertoire that gathers pieces of Chilean composers from the last 100 years. The sometimes romantic, sometimes melancholic and thoughtful, sometimes surreal lyrics (among others by Federico García Lorca and the Chilean Nobel Prize winners Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda) are in four languages: Spanish, Italian, German and Mapudungún, the language of the Mapuche, the largest indigenous ethnic group in Chile.
